About the Role
This internship is offered within the Gender, Poverty and Social Policy Division (GPSPD) of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The division supports African member states in achieving inclusive and equitable sustainable human and social development, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and data analysis on youth employment in Africa.
- Compile and organize information, reports, charts, and databases.
- Draft content for studies, policy briefs, and infographics.
- Support in organizing meetings and preparing minutes.
- Participate in team meetings and reporting processes.
- Assist with general duties assigned by the responsible officer.
Qualifications / Skills
- Currently enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field (Social Sciences, Economics, or related).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis; knowledge of econometrics required.
- Strong interest in UN work and values.
- Ability to work in multicultural environments and collaborate effectively.
Languages
English required; French desirable.
