Job Description
Marie Stopes International Ethiopia is seeking a qualified and motivated professional to join its team as an Emergency Outreach Team Leader. This position plays an important role in supporting women and girls through community outreach and safe space programs in emergency settings.
The Emergency Outreach Team Leader will work closely with the Emergency Outreach Coordinator and will be responsible for coordinating outreach activities, ensuring timely reporting, and supporting services that address the needs of women and girls affected by crisis situations.
The role focuses on managing a safe and supportive environment where women and girls can access psychosocial support, counseling services, and community awareness activities. These services aim to improve protection, empowerment, and wellbeing.
The selected candidate will help establish and manage safe spaces that provide confidential and welcoming environments for women and girls to gather, learn, and receive support services.
The position involves organizing structured recreational and educational activities such as group discussions, handicrafts, art therapy, and awareness sessions on topics including health, hygiene, nutrition, livelihoods, and sexual and reproductive health.
The Emergency Outreach Team Leader will provide psychological first aid and emotional support to individuals who have experienced violence or distress. Compassion, professionalism, and respect for confidentiality are critical in this role.
Another key responsibility includes managing case files and coordinating referrals for survivors of gender based violence. The position requires close coordination with medical, legal, and mental health service providers.
