Job Summary
The Economic Affairs Officer supports the Regional Integration Section, providing research, analysis, and policy advice on economic development and regional integration in Africa. The role includes developing socio-economic databases, conducting sectoral analysis, contributing to reports such as ARIA and ASRII, and supporting intergovernmental meetings and technical cooperation programmes.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Economics or related fields. A first-level degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted. Experience in data analytics or data science is an advantage.

Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in economic research, policy formulation, or related areas. Experience in African issues is desirable.

Languages
English or French at UN Level II (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

  • Professionalism in applying economic theories and conducting independent research
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizing skills
  • Ability to analyze data for decision-making and reporting
