Driver

Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) is seeking a qualified Driver to support its program operations. The position requires strong driving skills, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with organizational policies.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the FASC/WUs Head, the Driver will be responsible for safe vehicle operation, basic maintenance, and transport-related support services. The role requires awareness of NGO operational standards, first aid basics, insurance policies, and safe patient transport.

Key Responsibilities
• Drive assigned vehicles safely in compliance with traffic laws and organizational policies.
• Ensure vehicles are used strictly for official organizational purposes.
• Monitor and ensure timely filling and rational use of fuel and oil.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety equipment, and proper condition of vehicles.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks before operation.
• Ensure regular maintenance and annual vehicle inspection on time.
• Keep accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel records, and kilometer readings.
• Transport staff, documents, letters, and materials as required.
• Report accidents, incidents, or safety issues immediately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• 10th or 12th Grade completion.
• Valid III Grade Driving License or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of directly relevant driving experience.

Skills and Competencies
• Good knowledge of vehicle operation and basic maintenance.
• Familiarity with main and side roads in the project areas.
• Effective communication and sociability.
• Experience in fuel control and transport operations.
• Proficiency in Afan Oromo is desirable.
• Familiarity with West Hararge Zone or similar socio-cultural and geographic contexts is an advantage.
