Job Summary
World Vision is seeking a Commodity Officer to support logistics, transport, and commodity management within food assistance programs. The role involves planning and monitoring movement, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining records, and compliance with donor and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Transport Support
- Assist the Logistics and Transport Coordinator in planning and monitoring commodity movement
- Coordinate transport and ensure timely delivery
Information & Reporting
- Support the Information and Reporting Officer in verifying monthly/quarterly reports
- Maintain accurate records (waybills, ledgers)
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements (e.g., WFP)
Commodity Management & Standards
- Monitor food quality and manage loss claims
- Implement internal controls and adhere to GACAP standards
- Conduct training for storekeepers and commodity accountants on warehouse procedures and record-keeping systems (LMMS-ITS, JEOP Portal, Partner Connect)
- Regularly monitor warehouse and distribution documents, reconcile reports, and ensure alignment with physical stock
Record Keeping & Audit
- Maintain an audit-ready filing system for all commodity files, records, and reports
- Ensure security and safe storage of documents
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 3–4 years of work experience in food assistance programs, preferably in an NGO setting
- Strong knowledge of GACAP and emergency food resource management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- INGO experience and capacity to work in high-risk/high-tension environments
