Job Description and Strategic Impact
The Ethiopia-Djibouti Transport Corridor Project is seeking senior-level Geometric, Materials, Structural, and Geotechnical Engineers to lead critical design and implementation phases. These roles are strategically essential for the Mieso-Dire Dawa Expressway, a project that will drastically improve the efficiency of goods moving between Ethiopia and the port of Djibouti. Your technical leadership will ensure that this infrastructure is safe, efficient, and capable of supporting the region’s economic future.
As a Geometric Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the horizontal and vertical alignment of the expressway, ensuring the route is optimized for topography and international safety standards. The Materials & Pavement Engineer focuses on the durability of the road surface, designing material mix ratios that can withstand heavy transport loads and varied climatic conditions. Your work ensures the longevity of the project and reduces long-term maintenance costs.
The Structural Engineer oversees the design and integrity of bridges, culverts, and underpasses. In a region with complex terrain, your structural expertise is vital to maintaining connectivity and safety. Meanwhile, the Geotechnical Engineer addresses the foundation of the project, analyzing soil data and developing solutions for challenging ground conditions. Together, this multidisciplinary team forms the technical backbone of one of Ethiopia’s most significant transport initiatives.
These roles offer profound career development opportunities. You will be integrated into the FSDI design team, working alongside international experts and using advanced engineering software like Civil 3D. The project provides a unique platform to master AASHTO and ERA standards at a massive scale. For experienced engineers, this is an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on Ethiopia’s industrial landscape.
Ultimately, your impact goes beyond technical drawings; you are helping to build the “economic backbone” of the country. By resolving construction-related design issues on-site and ensuring compliance with the highest engineering standards, you ensure that the Ethiopia-Djibouti corridor remains a safe and reliable path for millions. Join CCECC and take your place at the forefront of East African infrastructure development.
