Cashier

Job Summary
The Cashier is responsible for proper handling of financial and material resources within food assistance projects. The role ensures secure management of cash, warehouse goods, and project properties, maintains filing systems, reconciles stock and financial records, and reports any risks or discrepancies to supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

Property & Warehouse Management

  • Ensure proper handling and management of warehouse goods and project properties
  • Record and reconcile goods received, issued, and bin-card stocks
  • Follow up on property management and report damages or missing items promptly

Cash & Financial Management

  • Serve as cash custodian and ensure proper handling of material supplies according to finance and material management guidelines
  • Manage project financial assets and materials safely
  • Effect payments and maintain structured financial hardcopy filing system

Reporting & Compliance

  • Regularly report physical counts, risks, or damages
  • Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Accounting, Business, or related field (Degree is an advantage)
  • 2–4 years of experience in similar or related positions in food assistance projects
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in Amharic, English, and Afaan Oromo (local language knowledge is an advantage)
