Accountant

Accountant – Dimeka
The Accountant will provide financial support for CUAMM projects in Dimeka, ensuring proper accounting, documentation, and compliance with donor and organizational requirements. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to integrate work within the broader CUAMM context in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities:
Check, prepare, and process payments via cash, cheque, and bank transfer; maintain detailed documentation of expenses (invoices, receipts) and financial movements; update the accounting system of projects in Lotus and Peachtree, including the Operational Plan (OP); ensure monthly settlement of government obligations; collect bank statements and prepare monthly bank, cash, and journal reconciliations; manage petty cash; scan and upload all relevant project documents and expenditure justifications on the drive each month; keep staff folders updated (employment contracts, leave forms, attendance); support logistics checks for vehicles, motorbikes, and office generator; prepare procurement supporting documents and revise/file all supporting documents according to donor requirements; assist the project officer, country administrator, and Finance Manager; support audit preparations and donor/authority financial reporting; perform additional assignments as assigned by Area Admin.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in humanitarian or development settings; 2 years’ experience as an INGO Accountant; proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., Peachtree); strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Skills & Competencies:
Attention to detail, accounting, proficiency in Peachtree and MS Office.
