The Sponsorship Officer supports the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Community Engagement and Sponsorship Project (CESP) at the AP level. The role ensures strong integration between program activities and sponsorship requirements while maintaining compliance with World Vision’s standards. It focuses on strengthening relationships between sponsored children, families, communities, and sponsors to support child well-being. The position also manages system and data functions essential for effective sponsorship operations.
The role involves coordinating with technical project officers, monitoring registered children, and ensuring their active participation and benefits within the program. The officer supports the rollout of sponsorship 2.0 initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality production and communication. The position requires close collaboration with staff, volunteers, and community partners to carry out sponsorship activities and new initiatives.
The officer conducts capacity-building trainings on sponsorship processes, child development, and positive parenting. The role also involves leading awareness activities, engaging partners in sponsorship operations, and supporting community participation. Monitoring responsibilities include RC management, performance tracking, data reconciliation, system upgrades, and follow-up on sponsorship communications.
The position supports the preparation of high-quality inputs for Annual Progress Reports, Youth Updates, and Christmas Cards. It also contributes to AP transitions such as project closure comments, farewell letters, videos, and RC drops. The officer follows up on child well-being cases across education, health, nutrition, and protection, coordinating actions with the AP team.
Education
BA/BSc in Development Studies or related social sciences.
Advanced degree preferred; Master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience
3+ years of relevant work experience.
NGO experience is preferred.
Skills
Strong communication and team-building skills.
Experience in child sponsorship and development is an asset.
Ability to live and work full-time in the community.
Fluency in English and Amharic.
Work Environment
Field-based position requiring physical and mental readiness for community-level tasks.
