Purpose of the Job

The purpose of the job is to manage individual human rights complaints, plan and implement monitoring of places of detention and emergencies, finalize reports, issue recommendations, and develop and implement advocacy and follow-up strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: LLM/LLB Degree in Law, Human Rights Law, or International Law.
• Experience:
  • 4 years of relevant experience for LLB holders.
  • 2 years of relevant experience for LLM holders.
• Skills Required: Analytical skills, communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
• Language: Knowledge of Amharic required. Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.
• General: Computer literate.

Key Job Responsibilities (Summary)

• Manage investigation of human rights complaints.
• Conduct monitoring of places of detention and draft reports.
• Conduct human rights monitoring during emergencies.
