Islamic Relief is an international humanitarian and development organization operating in Ethiopia since 2004. The organization works across Somali, Afar, and Oromia regions, delivering health, nutrition, protection, and community development programs.

Position 1: Midwife Nurse
Duty Station: Oromia, West Hararge Zone, Hirna
Salary: As per scale
Required: One
Duration: One year with possible extension

Responsibilities:
Provide ANC, PNC, safe delivery, newborn care, family planning support, STI/HIV counselling, and adolescent SRH services.
Conduct outreach sessions on reproductive health, early marriage, early pregnancy, and GBV prevention.
Strengthen youth-friendly services and promote healthy pregnancy spacing.
Support capacity building for health workers and HEWs through training and mentoring.
Facilitate community health education, nutrition demonstrations, and women/youth dialogues.
Participate in supportive supervision, quality improvement, data reporting, and MEAL activities.
Ensure safeguarding, gender equity, and adherence to national guidelines.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery or Nursing with 4 years of experience, preferably in an international NGO.

Skills:
Strong maternal and child health knowledge, facilitation experience, fluency in Affan Oromo and good English, computer skills, and ability to work in multicultural teams.

Position 2: Storekeeper
Duty Station: Project Locations
Salary: As per scale

Experience:
Minimum 4 years in storekeeping, inventory, and logistics operations.

Education:
Bachelor’s in Purchasing and Supply Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Skills:
Teamwork, strong communication, English proficiency, Afan Oromo required, knowledge of local context, and commitment to Islamic Relief values.

Position 3: Clinical Nurse
Duty Station: Oromia Region

Responsibilities:
Provide clinical and maternal health services in line with national standards.
Support primary health care delivery, training facilitation, and community-level initiatives.

Education:
Bachelor’s in Nursing with 4 years of experience, preferably in INGO settings.

Skills:
Good understanding of MCH services, strong communication, Affan Oromo fluency, good English, and computer proficiency.

Position 4: HSS Capacity Building Officer
Duty Station: Tulo Woreda, West Hararghe Zone

Responsibilities:
Provide training, supervision, and technical support to strengthen health systems.
Coordinate with zonal and woreda health offices and support integrated health service delivery.

Education:
Bachelor’s in Public Health, Health Service Management, Nursing, or related fields.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years in health system strengthening and NGO coordination.

Skills:
Strong facilitation, knowledge of national guidelines, communication skills, and fluency in English and Afaan Oromo.

Position 5: HMIS Officer
Duty Station: West Hararge Zone, Hirna

Responsibilities:
Manage DHIS2 systems, data validation, analysis, reporting, supervision, and facility-level staff mentoring.
Conduct regular field visits, coordinate with health offices, and support MEAL activities.

Education:
Bachelor’s in Public Health, Health Informatics, Statistics, Nursing, or related fields.

Experience:
Minimum 5 years in HIS or M&E, including 3 years with DHIS2.

Skills:
Data analysis, reporting, MS Office proficiency, English and Afan Oromo fluency, and NGO experience.

Position 6: Logistics and Admin Assistant
Duty Station: Oromia, Dire Woreda

Responsibilities:
Support logistics, procurement, asset management, administrative tasks, and office operations.

Education:
Bachelor’s in Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related fields.

Experience:
4 years in logistics/admin roles, preferably in INGO settings.

Skills:
Strong judgement, interpersonal skills, communication abilities, Afan Oromo, English, ethics, and MS Office skills.
