Job Description
The Operations Director is responsible for developing and implementing freight forwarding strategies aligned with company goals, leading market research and annual planning, and representing the company in logistics forums and regulatory platforms. The role oversees end-to-end freight operations including shipment handling, customs clearance, warehousing, documentation, and partner management. Key responsibilities include coordinating logistics units, managing agents and carriers, acquiring new customers, maintaining key account relationships, negotiating rates, and ensuring high-quality, cost-efficient service delivery. The position ensures compliance with customs laws, international freight regulations, and company policies while monitoring financial performance, approving operational documents, and preparing regular management reports. The Director also leads continuous improvement, risk management, and quality management initiatives, while building and mentoring a high-performing professional team and ensuring strong customer service and operational excellence.
Job Specification
Basic Education: Master’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, or Transport Management
Work Experience: 7 years of relevant experience, including 4 years in a supervisory role
Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, INCOTERMS, and freight documentation; proven experience in air and sea freight operations and multimodal transport; negotiation, leadership, and communication skills; proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Office; strong analytical and decision-making ability; professionalism, integrity, and results-oriented mindset; strong stakeholder management and adaptability.
