About This Role
The Case Manager leads, coordinates, and supervises GBV and protection case management activities at the woreda level, ensuring timely, safe, and quality services for survivors and individuals at risk. The role includes supervising Case Workers, ensuring adherence to national and international standards, maintaining confidentiality, and strengthening coordination with woreda-level government offices and protection actors.

Job Responsibilities

Case Management Supervision and Quality Assurance

  • Supervise and mentor Case Workers to ensure compliance with case management standards and protocols.
  • Review and approve case files, care plans, and closure reports.
  • Support Case Workers with complex or high-risk cases involving GBV, child abuse, exploitation, or neglect.
  • Conduct regular case conferences and supervision sessions.
  • Ensure confidentiality, safety, non-discrimination, and do-no-harm principles.

Coordination and Partnership

  • Lead woreda-level coordination with health facilities, legal and psychosocial service providers, law enforcement, and government offices.
  • Maintain and update referral pathways.
  • Represent ChildFund in woreda-level GBV and child protection meetings.
  • Strengthen linkages with kebele-level structures including Child Rights Committees, Women’s Associations, and Youth Groups.

Capacity Building and Technical Support

  • Provide continuous coaching and training for Case Workers, community volunteers, and partners.
  • Identify training needs and organize refresher sessions.
  • Support awareness efforts on GBV prevention, child protection, and safeguarding.

Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and confidential case documentation and safe data storage.
  • Consolidate weekly and monthly reports from Case Workers.
  • Track case trends, service gaps, and risks to inform response and advocacy.
  • Ensure compliance with monitoring and evaluation tools and participate in audits.

Safeguarding and Accountability

  • Ensure all staff and partners adhere to ChildFund safeguarding and PSEA standards.
  • Promote a culture of respect, accountability, and survivor-centered practice.
  • Report safeguarding concerns promptly.
  • Ensure beneficiary feedback is handled according to accountability mechanisms.

Job Requirements

Required Experience and Education

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in GBV or protection case management, social work, or humanitarian protection.
  • At least 1–2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of GBV case management, child protection systems, and referral mechanisms.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Gender Studies, or a related social science field.
