Job Description and Strategic Impact

The Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Officer role is a critical position within the Supply Chain function, reporting directly to the SHE Manager. This role has a broad scope, overseeing the Unilever Ethiopia Dukem Factory, Logistics, and Non-Make Safety operations. It is designed for individuals motivated to maintain high safety standards from the factory floor to the fields.

Strategic impact in this role is achieved by ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel across Unilever’s Ethiopian operations. By implementing robust SHE standards, the officer helps protect the organization’s most valuable asset—its people—while ensuring operational continuity. This work is fundamental to building a sustainable and resilient business.

A "day-in-the-life" for this position involves daily walkthroughs to identify unsafe acts and conditions, alongside leading Safety Bonding and Safety Moment discussions. The officer also manages project and contractor safety during maintenance activities and oversees critical emergency equipment like fire extinguishers and first aid boxes.
