Job Description

World Vision Ethiopia is seeking a qualified Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance Officer to lead the implementation of cash-based interventions in Amhara Region.

The officer will coordinate and provide technical support for emergency Cash and Voucher Assistance programs across operational areas.

The role involves working closely with district government offices, community leaders, and internal departments to ensure effective beneficiary targeting, digital registration, and transparent cash distribution.

The position emphasizes supporting vulnerable households in meeting basic needs while strengthening pathways for livelihood restoration and economic resilience.

The officer will conduct community mobilization activities to ensure participation, ownership, and sustainability of interventions.

The role includes organizing awareness sessions, stakeholder briefings, and coordination meetings with relevant actors.

The officer will develop practical work breakdown structures to guide planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of cash-based activities.

Market monitoring is a core responsibility, including price data collection and analysis to ensure appropriate transfer values.

The position requires integrating gender, protection, and inclusion principles into all project activities.

The officer will support the formation and strengthening of community-based groups and facilitate linkages to micro, small, and medium enterprises.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning processes must be effectively implemented, including baseline, midline, and end-line assessments.

The role includes preparing detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in compliance with donor and organizational standards.

The officer will maintain organized documentation, including beneficiary records, training attendance sheets, market assessments, and success stories.

Innovation and continuous improvement are encouraged, including testing new approaches to enhance program efficiency and impact.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Agriculture, Rural Development, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.

Work Experience

A minimum of three years of professional experience in humanitarian cash programming or microfinance is required.

Experience working with community-based organizations and local government institutions is essential.

Familiarity with digital registration systems and cash transfer platforms is required.

Knowledge of Sphere standards and Cash and Voucher Assistance guidelines is preferred.
