Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia (HFE) is a pioneering organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of obstetric fistula and related maternal health issues. HFE aims to restore health and dignity to women across Ethiopia through treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation programs. The organization operates a main Fistula Hospital in Addis Ababa, five regional hospitals, a rehabilitation and reintegration center, and the Hamlin College of Midwives.

Position Summary

The Case Worker will serve as a focal person for rehabilitation and reintegration programs at HFE centers. The role involves assessing clients’ needs, developing individualized support plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring clients’ protection and well-being. The Case Worker will act as a critical link between clients, internal teams, and external service providers, advocating for client rights and promoting holistic, survivor-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of clients.
• Monitor and follow up on clients’ reintegration processes post-discharge.
• Screen clients and referrals for vocational training programs.
• Develop and implement individualized case plans tailored to client needs.
• Document case progress and ensure timely follow-up on referrals and services.
• Provide guidance for clients to access local resources.
• Serve as the reintegration focal person at HFE centers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, midwives, and external partners.
• Support community outreach and awareness programs.
• Maintain accurate data records and ensure confidentiality.
• Report safeguarding or protection concerns in compliance with organizational policies.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
• Work Experience: 0 years (suitable for 2024/25 graduates or 2017 EC graduates).

Languages

• Fluency in English and Amharic is required.
• Fluency in other local languages based on the work location is mandatory.
