About the Role:
FHI 360 is seeking a WASH Assistant – Hygiene Promotion to support public health promotion components of WASH activities in Tigray Region. The role includes providing technical guidance to field staff, volunteers, and partners, ensuring hygiene and sanitation interventions meet international and Ministry of Health standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support WASH Officer in coordinating with government offices, volunteers, and partners.
• Assist in planning and facilitating technical trainings on hygiene promotion approaches (e.g., WASH’EM, Baby and Mothers).
• Support baseline, endline, KAP, and PDM surveys.
• Oversee proper implementation of WASH NFI and MHM kit distribution.
• Facilitate public health promotion campaigns and events.
• Represent FHI 360 in WASH cluster meetings and technical working groups.
• Supervise field WASH Assistants and provide technical support.
• Assist in drafting reports, identifying infrastructure and IPC issues, and preparing procurement and spending plans.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 2–3 years’ experience in NGO settings, with focus on WASH, public health promotion, nutrition, or humanitarian projects.
• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing WASH programs.
• Experience with assessments (rapid, baseline) and liaising with stakeholders.
• Understanding of UN Cluster System and national/international minimum standards in humanitarian settings.
• Willingness to travel frequently to operational locations.
• Fluent in local language and English.
