Job Description
Plan International Ethiopia is seeking a qualified Education Officer for a multi-sectoral project funded by Norad and implemented in West Hararge Zone, Guba Koricha Woreda.

The role is part of a broader initiative covering education, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), youth economic empowerment, civil society strengthening, and youth engagement.

The main purpose of the position is to lead the education component of the project and ensure quality implementation of all planned educational interventions.

The Education Officer will conduct needs assessments, analyze response priorities, and support the effective rollout of project activities in schools and communities.

The position requires close collaboration with project staff working in health, youth development, and community engagement to ensure integrated service delivery.

The officer will also work with local education stakeholders, clusters, school leaders, teachers, and community representatives to strengthen educational access and quality.

Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold one of the following degrees:

  • B.A. or B.Sc. in Education

Work Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in education programming.

Experience in school-based multi-sectoral programming is required.

Candidates should have proven involvement in at least two successful assignments in complex crisis or emergency settings.

Experience in mobilizing, mentoring, and training teachers, students, and school communities is highly preferred.

Previous NGO, INGO, humanitarian, or development sector experience will be considered a strong advantage.
