Job Description
The Project Field Officer will play a central role in implementing community-based activities and engaging directly with local populations.

This position is designed for individuals passionate about social change and community empowerment.

The officer will work closely with communities to promote awareness and encourage collective action against harmful practices.

The role involves facilitating open discussions, building trust, and supporting behavior change at the grassroots level.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating structured community and intergenerational dialogue sessions
  • Conducting peer education programs in schools and community groups

  • Organizing life skills, parenting, and leadership training sessions
  • Mobilizing communities and ensuring active participation in project activities
  • Collaborating with schools, health workers, and social service providers
  • Supporting identification and referral of vulnerable and at-risk girls
  • Collecting field data, documenting success stories, and gathering feedback
  • Preparing and submitting regular activity reports

Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field.

Additional training in gender studies, public health, or community development will be considered an advantage.

This position allows candidates to apply their academic background in practical, real-world development settings.

Work Experience
Candidates should have a minimum of four years of relevant experience in community mobilization or related fields.

Experience in programs addressing harmful traditional practices or gender-based issues is highly desirable.

Familiarity with the local context of Bahirdar Zuria Woreda and Dangila is strongly preferred.

Relevant experience will enable the candidate to effectively connect with communities and deliver impactful results.

Required Skills and Competencies
Applicants must have excellent communication and facilitation skills.

Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.

Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity are essential for working effectively with diverse communities.

Job Location
The position is based in Bahirdar, with project implementation in Bahirdar Zuria Woreda and Dangila.
