Project Coordinator

World Vision Ethiopia is currently seeking a qualified Project Coordinator to lead an integrated emergency humanitarian response project in the Amhara region.

Job Purpose

The Emergency Response Project Coordinator will provide overall leadership, technical oversight, and operational coordination for an integrated humanitarian response project.

The role covers agriculture, nutrition, multi-purpose cash assistance (MPCA), and other cross-cutting emergency activities.

The coordinator will ensure effective planning, implementation, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring in line with donor requirements and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management and Coordination

Provide overall coordination and technical support for integrated sector activities, ensuring alignment with emergency standards and project objectives.

Lead the development of detailed implementation plans, budgets, and procurement schedules for timely execution.

Supervise and mentor sector staff while promoting cross-sector collaboration.

Provide regular updates on the humanitarian context within the project area.

Stakeholder Engagement and Representation

Liaise with zonal and local government offices, including DRM, Health, Agriculture, and Women & Social Affairs.

Represent the organization in coordination platforms, joint assessments, and donor site visits.

Support advocacy efforts and donor communications through briefing materials and updates.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)

Oversee monitoring activities including post-distribution monitoring, market assessments, GBV safety audits, and routine data collection.

Ensure proper documentation of results, lessons learned, and success stories.

Work closely with MEAL teams to ensure compliance with reporting timelines and indicator tracking.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

Ensure activities meet sectoral quality standards and safeguarding requirements.

Implement community feedback mechanisms and integrate feedback into programming.

Monitor contextual risks such as conflict, access, and security, and adjust plans accordingly.

Operations and Logistics Oversight

Coordinate procurement, logistics, and distribution processes with operations teams.

Ensure accurate record-keeping, asset management, and budget monitoring.

Support recruitment and onboarding of emergency staff in collaboration with P&C teams.

Communication and Working Relationships

Maintain effective coordination with internal departments including MEAL, Finance, Supply Chain, and P&C.

Serve as the primary contact for local government agencies, community leaders, and partners.

Facilitate accountability and inclusive communication with beneficiaries and community structures.

Ensure timely sharing of project progress, challenges, and updates.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Economics, Development Studies, Rural Development, or a related field.

Professional Experience

Minimum of five years of experience coordinating emergency response or multi-sector humanitarian programs.

Strong technical understanding of cash programming, financial inclusion, protection, agriculture, or nutrition.

Proven experience in team management, partner coordination, and donor engagement.

Familiarity with humanitarian standards such as Sphere, CHS, and CPMS.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Experience in budget preparation and report writing is preferred.

Additional Requirements

Frequent field travel to operational Woredas and Kebeles is required.

Frequent domestic travel within the program area.

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Strong coordination and networking skills.
