Job Description
The Project Officer will play a key role in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring activities that support the sustainable return, reintegration, and social inclusion of returnees under the European Reintegration Project. This role involves close engagement with vulnerable groups, facilitating access to social, economic, and psychosocial support services, and ensuring effective project delivery. The Project Officer will also contribute to documentation, reporting, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance program effectiveness and community impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating project activities to ensure timely and efficient implementation.
  • Monitoring and evaluating project outcomes, documenting progress, and preparing reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Engaging with returnees and vulnerable groups to assess needs and facilitate access to reintegration services.
  • Supporting capacity-building initiatives for partner organizations and community actors.
  • Contributing to the development of project tools, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding protocols, and ethical standards.

Educational Qualification

  • MA, MSc, BA, or BSc degree in Sociology, Social Work, Economics, Agricultural Economics, or related fields.
  • Additional training in migration, reintegration, or organizational development is an advantage.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in organizational development, capacity building, knowledge management, or similar roles.
  • Experience working in NGOs, humanitarian organizations, or migration-related projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable populations, including returnees, is an asset.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent written and spoken English; fluency in Amharic is required, and knowledge of local languages is preferred.
  • Strong report writing, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and computer literacy.
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and vulnerable groups sensitively and ethically.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.

Job Location
Addis Ababa, National Office, with possible field visits to project sites as required.
