Job Description
As an Intern within the AEEP Secretariat, you will play a supportive yet vital role in the daily operations of a major international partnership. Your work will directly contribute to the visibility and efficiency of energy infrastructure projects across the African continent, helping to bridge the gap between policy goals and real-world implementation.
The primary impact of this role lies in assisting the team with research, organizational tasks, and communication efforts. You will be tasked with gathering data that informs strategic decisions, helping to prepare documents for high-level meetings, and ensuring that the partnership’s objectives are communicated clearly to all stakeholders.
This position is designed as a learning journey. Educational Qualification
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Environmental Studies, Climate Change, Migration Studies, or Development Studies.
- Candidates with degrees in Communications, Social or Political Sciences, Economics, Law, or Public Policy are also highly encouraged to apply.
- Qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science, or any related discipline with a focus on sustainable energy and/or power systems are also accepted.
Work Experience
- This position is specifically designed for fresh graduates who are looking to enter the professional world.
- While profound practical experience is not a prerequisite, candidates are expected to demonstrate a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge.

Employment Type and Salary
This is a full-time internship position. GIZ offers a competitive internship allowance in line with organizational standards, providing financial support while you gain invaluable professional experience. This role is a fixed-term contract aimed at professional development and capacity building.
