Job Description
The Peace Building Officer will lead and support peacebuilding and conflict resolution activities in Sheraro and surrounding communities.
This role focuses on promoting social cohesion, reconciliation, and sustainable peace in conflict-affected areas.
The officer will work closely with community structures, local authorities, CSOs, and project partners at regional, woreda, kebele, and community levels.
The position includes facilitating peace dialogues, trauma healing sessions, and community forums to reduce tensions and build trust.
The officer will support the development of conflict early warning systems and community-based action plans.
This role directly contributes to long-term stability and positive social change in vulnerable communities.
The position offers strong professional growth in peacebuilding, community engagement, and humanitarian coordination.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold a BSc degree in Peace Studies, Conflict Management, Law, Psychology, Social Studies, or a related field.
Ongoing learning and professional development in peace and conflict resolution are highly valued.
Work Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in conflict and peacebuilding in an NGO setting.
Experience working in conflict-prone and insecure areas is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in community-based peace initiatives and dialogue facilitation is an advantage.

Job Location
The duty station is Sheraro Field Office, Tigray Region, Ethiopia.
The role requires close engagement with local communities and stakeholders.
Employment Type and Salary
This is a full-time National Contract position with a contract length of 9 months.
The position is classified as Band H2 (Non-Management).
The start date is 15 April 2026.
Salary and benefits will be in accordance with DRC’s Terms of Employment for National Employees.
