Job Purpose
The Information and Knowledge Management Advisor will lead and support the development and use of IT-enabled information and knowledge management products to enhance program effectiveness, coordination, monitoring, learning, and strategic planning across ETC projects.
Key Responsibilities
The Advisor will support the cluster M&E team in developing and maintaining data collection systems, dashboards, and reporting tools; develop information products such as dashboards, maps, fact sheets, and analytical reports using tools like Power BI and QGIS; ensure data quality, integrity, interoperability, and timely availability; manage and analyze GIS-based products and geospatial datasets; support documentation and knowledge sharing across platforms; harmonize data standards with projects and partners; provide technical advice, training, and hands-on support on information management, GIS, and data visualization; and perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Data Analytics, GIS, or a related field.
Professional Experience
At least five years of professional experience in information management, GIS, or data analytics within development cooperation or related sectors, with proven experience in producing analytical reports, maps, dashboards, and managing data systems.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, results-oriented mindset, ability to work independently and proactively, strong teamwork and stakeholder coordination skills, intercultural competence, adaptability, accuracy, creativity, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with data collection, analysis, visualization, and mapping tools such as Power BI, ODK, Kobo Toolbox, Excel, and QGIS, with proven ability to ensure data quality and standards.
Language Requirements
Full professional proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Amharic is required. German and other Ethiopian languages are an asset.
