Job Purpose
The Logistics Assistant (Fuel Management) supports standard logistics and supply chain processes with a focus on fuel management, ensuring effective delivery of goods and services in accordance with WFP regulations, supply chain assurance, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Logistics Officer, the Logistics Assistant will manage fuel operations at the Jijiga logistics hub, conduct fuel stock monitoring, maintain accurate records in fleet and fuel management systems, ensure safe fuel handling, issue fuel only to authorized WFP assets, compile reports, support data analysis, respond to operational queries, and perform other related duties as required.
Education
Completion of secondary school education is required. A post-secondary certificate in a related field is preferred. A university degree in business administration, economics, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in logistics and supply chain management, including fuel and fleet management. Experience in emergency operations and prior work in the Somali Region are advantages.
Desirable Skills
Experience in fleet and transport planning, fuel management, KPI-based performance monitoring, corporate systems support, strong data analysis skills, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications, ability to work under pressure, and strong communication skills.
Language Requirement
Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of the duty station’s local language is an advantage.
