Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) is seeking a qualified Finance Officer-Projects (AO, Project) – II to manage project financial operations in compliance with organizational and donor requirements.

Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Finance and Operation Head of the Area Office, the Finance Officer is responsible for overall project finance management, ensuring compliance with grant agreements and FGAE financial regulations. The role requires strong skills in accounting software, financial reporting, data analysis, and staff guidance, with a pro-choice commitment.

Key Responsibilities
• Code and record all expenditures, income, and financial transactions accurately.
• Check clinic receipts, invoices, petty cash payments, and post accordingly.
• Review bi-weekly transaction summaries from area offices for completeness and proper coding.
• Maintain debtors and creditors accounts with accurate balance allocation.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Verify payroll and regular payments, including deductions and advances.
• Respond to auditor queries and prepare required schedules.
• Record stock receipts, transfers, and consumption.
• Provide guidance and reporting formats to accounting staff.
• Perform quarterly reconciliation between general and subsidiary ledgers.
• Support center heads and receptionists on financial matters.
• Assist in preparation, revision, and analysis of financial statements.
• Investigate and clear long-outstanding balances and stock variances.
• Prepare semi-annual and annual financial statements.
• Prepare and submit monthly and ad-hoc financial reports to FGAE and donors.
• Improve systems for handling financial documents.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• MBA/MA/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience for MA/MBA holders or 7 years for BA holders.

Skills and Competencies
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience in financial reporting and data analysis.
• Ability to train and guide staff.
• Effective communication skills.
