Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (PMEO-AO/-Projects) to support the implementation of the BRAVE / Mullata Keenya – Our Vision Project.
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will plan, coordinate, and facilitate project M&E activities. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational learning skills, with experience in collaborative work and a positive, pro-choice attitude.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement the project M&E plan, tools, indicators, and data management systems aligned with results frameworks and donor requirements.
• Coordinate needs assessments, including health facility and accountability assessments, with FGAE teams and partners.
• Collect, verify, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data across SRHR, gender, inclusion, climate, and youth engagement components.
• Ensure data quality through validation, field checks, and supportive supervision.
• Prepare and submit timely M&E reports for internal use, donors, and stakeholders.
• Support adaptive management by providing insights on progress, challenges, gaps, and lessons learned.
• Document success stories, case studies, and best practices.
• Facilitate participatory M&E processes involving adolescents, youth, and persons with disabilities.
• Build M&E capacity of staff, partners, and community structures through training and mentoring.
• Maintain secure and updated digital and physical M&E databases.
• Represent the project in M&E technical working groups and coordination platforms.
• Ensure compliance with FGAE and donor MEAL standards and safeguarding principles.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
• MA/MSc/BA/BSc degree in Statistics, Health, Health Informatics, Nursing, Economics, Social Science, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience for MA/MSc holders or 5 years for BA/BSc holders.
• Experience implementing SRHR, gender, youth, or community-based projects, preferably in Ethiopia.

• Ability to work independently and in multicultural teams.
• Commitment to gender equality, disability inclusion, and youth participation.
• Willingness to travel frequently to woreda and remote kebeles.
Language and Additional Requirements
• Proficiency in Afan Oromo and English; sign language is an asset.
• Familiarity with West Hararge Zone or similar contexts is desirable.
• Motorbike driving license is advantageous.
