About scholarship
The Sophie Germain Scholarship 2026/27 is now open for international students worldwide. This fully funded scholarship supports outstanding students to pursue Master’s (M1 or M2) and PhD studies in Mathematics and related fields in France. The program is funded by the Jacques Hadamard Mathematics Foundation.

Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, including:
- Annual stipend of €11,000
- Coverage of university registration fees
- Up to €2,000 for round-trip airfare and visa costs
- Housing support and essential living items for international students

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to all international students
- Applicants from outside Europe are eligible
- Applicants must apply to one of the eligible Master’s programs
- Non-European students must obtain a student visa after selection
Selection Criteria
- Based on academic excellence
- Evaluation of academic transcripts
- Quality of recommendation letters

- Completed personal information form
- Selected Master’s program name
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s academic transcripts
- Academic CV
- Names and email addresses of referees
- Study plan (maximum 2 pages)
Application Procedure
- Admission and scholarship applications are combined under one process
- No separate scholarship application after admission
- Applicants must apply online through the official Sophie Germain Scholarship platform
- No application fee is required by the scholarship itself (any program-specific admission fees depend on university rules)
- After selection, non-European students must apply for a French student visa
