Finance Coordinator (Maternity Cover)

Job Overview
World Vision Ethiopia is seeking a Finance Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to ensure financial and accounting integrity at the Program Hub and AP level. The role involves managing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, and supporting audit processes.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Graduate Degree in Financial Analysis or Business Modelling (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years in business management or finance roles in INGOs or for-profit organizations
  • Experience in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounting Operations: Process funding transfers, handle disbursements, follow up on advances and payables, maintain records, and provide accounting support to staff and management.
  • Financial & Accounting Reports: Prepare accurate financial data, reconcile bank accounts, ensure correct balance sheet accounts, and provide timely reports.
  • Financial Risk & Compliance Management: Participate in annual planning, monitor resource use, ensure grant compliance, collaborate with auditors, and follow organizational accounting policies.
  • Finance Professional Ethics: Uphold financial integrity, maintain confidentiality, escalate fraudulent acts, and ensure punctuality and professionalism.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Technical expertise in financial and analytics systems development
  • Excellent working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in cross-cultural and multinational environments
  • Innovative problem-solving and leadership abilities

Licenses / Certification

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent

Language

  • Fluency in English and local language
