Job Overview:
The Instrument Operator is responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems used in industrial processes. This includes field instrumentation such as transmitters, control valves, sensors, and analyzers that monitor and regulate pressure, temperature, flow, and level in plant operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and perform routine checks on instrumentation equipment used in LNG production and processing.
- Assist in the calibration, testing, and adjustment of various field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level, analytical).
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on instrumentation devices according to established procedures and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, control room operators, and maintenance personnel to identify and resolve instrumentation-related issues.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience with instrumentation systems in industrial plants (preferably oil & gas, LNG, power, or chemical plants).
- Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, signal types (analog/digital), and loop systems.
- Proficiency with calibration and testing tools (e.g., multimeters, pressure calibrators, HART communicators).
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and instrument datasheets.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Committed to safety, accuracy, and continuous learning.
- Familiarity with pneumatic, electronic, and smart digital instruments.
- Experience with PLC/DCS systems, control valves, and transmitters preferred.
