About the Role:
The Publishing Officer is part of ECA’s Publications, Conference, and Knowledge Management Division, supporting Africa’s transformation through knowledge dissemination aligned with SDGs and Agenda 2063. The officer reports to the Chief, Production Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement publishing and information programs to support priority issues and events.
  • Draft publishing strategies, coordinate production, and monitor progress.
  • Promote dissemination of UN publications across print, digital, and multimedia formats.
  • Produce or oversee reports, newsletters, books, brochures, infographics, interactive publications, audio-visual content, and other design products.
  • Draft initial content for publications and coordinate clearances and approvals.
  • Engage and maintain relationships with authors, editors, designers, translators, and vendors.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff, including mentoring in publishing workflows.
  • Collect and analyze publishing-related data for reporting and decision-making.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s) in publishing, multimedia design, communication, or related field. A first-level degree with relevant experience may be accepted.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in visual communications, digital production, interactive publications, and multimedia content; experience in international or private organizations preferred.
  • Skills: Digital publication production, multimedia storytelling, data analytics (desirable).

Languages:

  • Required: English (UN Level II)
  • Desirable: French (UN Level I)
