The Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics (ESL) is a national enterprise formed through the merger of four major transport sector organizations: Ethiopian Shipping Lines S.C., Ethiopian Maritime and Transit Service Enterprise, Dry Port Enterprise, and Comet Transport S.C., consolidated in August 2016. Among these, the former Ethiopian Shipping Lines S.C., established on March 1, 1956 E.C with a capital of 50,000 ETB, played a leading role in forming the new company.
