About the Role:
The Adolescent Girls Program Officer implements curriculum-based interventions for adolescent girls and their caregivers, focusing on protection, life skills, psychosocial support, and referral services. The role involves program planning, coordination with government and NGOs, monitoring and evaluation, mentoring, and representing Mercy Corps in coordination forums. Travel to field sites (up to 85%) may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement adolescent girls programs and adapt curriculum to local context.
  • Conduct training, mentorship, and capacity-building for mentors, community leaders, and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, partners, and community leaders.
  • Support program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Lead organizational and staff transformation on protection-related concerns.
  • Ensure safety, compliance with security procedures, and safeguarding principles.
  • Represent Mercy Corps in relevant coordination forums.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BA in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or related social science field.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in protection, VAWG/CRSV, or adolescent programs.
  • Experience in program management, report writing, qualitative and quantitative data collection.
  • Training and mentorship experience.
  • Fluent in English and the local language.

Living & Work Conditions:

  • Field-based in Afar, Zone 2, and Gode (Somali Region).
  • Extensive travel to woredas and kebeles (up to 85%).
